We wanted to find out how dignity, respect, quality of life and independence was being respected and supported in the person’s care, and how ‘activity-based’ care supported people to continue to be as active and independent as possible.

Following on from the NHS publishing the ‘Long Term Plan’ in January 2019, Healthwatch launched a countrywide campaign to give people a say in how the plan should be implemented in their communities; #WhatWouldYouDo campaign.

An Unmet Need is not easy to define and is hard to measure. We wanted to find out what needs people are experiencing that are currently not being met and why within the voluntary sector and Adult Social Care.

We decided, as one of its focused activities in 2018, to carry out a “General Practice Roadshow” format review of General Practitioner Practices in Telford & Wrekin.

When the NHS Long Term Plan was published in January 2019 Healthwatch England were asked by NHS England to engage with people across the country to find out what the public thought the NHS should prioritise over the next decade.

We wanted to find out how residents dignity and independence was being respected and supported in the Care Home environment. We want to identify examples of good practices and hear about any ideas the residents or staff may have for change.

We wanted to engage with residents to find out how their dignity and independence was being respected and supported in the Care Home environment. Also, we want to hear about their experiences and those of any relatives and visitors present.

We wanted to address how people who are deaf or hard of hearing find the accessibility of health and social care services in Telford and Wrekin.
